Fabric yardage for rectangular projects

Lay out repeated rectangles across your usable fabric width.

How it works

Pieces remain in the entered orientation to respect grain direction and directional prints. The tool fits whole pieces across the usable width and rounds the number of rows up. It excludes seam allowances unless you include them in the cut dimensions.

A worked example

Two 43 cm pieces fit across 110 cm. Four pieces need two rows, or 86 cm of length before allowance. With 10% extra, plan at least 94.6 cm; round to the seller’s cut increment.
