Cross stitch fabric size calculator
Find finished size and the fabric you need, including margins.
How it works
Design inches = stitches × threads per stitch ÷ fabric count. Add twice your margin to each dimension for cutting. On Aida, use 1; on 28-count evenweave stitched over two threads, use 2. This gives the same stitch size as 14-count Aida.
A worked example
100 × 140 stitches on 14-count Aida measure 7.14 × 10 inches. Three-inch margins on every side require at least 13.14 × 16 inches.
