How it works
Usable width and height are the fabric dimensions minus two margins. Multiply each usable dimension by effective stitches per inch and round down to whole stitches. Over-two stitching on 28-count fabric uses effective count 14. This checks rectangular fit in the entered orientation; inspect fabric condition before cutting.
A worked example
A 12 × 15 inch piece with 2-inch margins on 14 count has room for 112 × 154 stitches. A 100 × 140 chart fits.
